Zola holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from University of Cape Town, South Africa. She started her career in 1997 and has experience in development and enforcement of environmental legislation, community based natural resources management, environmental impact assessment, heritage site management, waste management, energy infrastructure, entrepreneurship and project management with respect to fast track multidisciplinary energy projects.
Her interests include guiding women that have the drive and are looking for opportunities to pursue entrepreneurial enterprises that will transcend stereotypes build sustainable value.
Zola serves on the board of the Powerline Association of South Africa (POLASA).
POLASA is responsible for ensuring the sustainability of the South African Powerline Construction Industry through strengthening localisation initiatives, giving input on the necessity and quality of imported material relevant to this industry and facilitating industry participation in shaping industry requirements, innovation and integrity.
She also serves in the Board of the African Women in Energy and Power (AWEaP) which is a non-profit company established to accelerate African women entrepreneurs’ participation in the Power and Energy sector.
Zola plays an active role in driving positive change in the engineering and construction industry to reflect a more favourable inclusion of previously disadvantaged groups. She strives to assist in terms of overcoming administrative obstacles, procurement processes and upskilling generally.
