He then joined the Re/Insurance industry and has over thirty years of reinsurance/insurance experience embracing the full spectrum of enterprising and professional activities from strategic board, corporate leadership and management, business development, technical training, underwriting to claims-handling services.
Over a period of thirteen years, he held senior leadership positions at MunichRe in SA and its American subsidiary in the USA.
Upon his return to SA, he was appointed as the Executive Head: Business Development at Lion of Africa Insurance Company Limited.
In 2005, he opted to start his own professional enterprise and ventured into the engineering loss adjusting services. This business was successfully developed but had to pivot in 2007 to take up the exciting opportunity with Eskom as a full-time external consultant. He was intrinsically involved as an engineering-insurance consultant on Eskom’s Power Station/Transmission Lines Capex developments over the years 2007 to 2011 (five years) and again over the period 2013 and 2014.
During this period, he also began to serve as a key facilitator for all Continental Reinsurance’s engineering-insurance training workshops and seminars across the continent as well as their specialist engineering-insurance underwriter and claims consultant.
In 2015 he was formally engaged as MD – Continental Property and Engineering Risk Services (Pty) Ltd and later transferred to the position of MD – Botswana Subsidiary.
The past two “covid pandemic” years were spent in South Africa closing his career with Continental Reinsurance as their Group Head – Underwriting and Claims for the six regional offices across the Continent.
Cas helped deliver the Voter Card Initiative – a project to help millions of disenfranchised South African nationals secure their identity documents enabling them to vote in our first democratic elections in 1994.
He was a Board Member of the United Nations – Principles of Sustainable Insurance (UN-PSI) initiative (2017 to 2020).

Sector experience includes Mining, Steel Plants, Oil & Gas and Power Plant projects, having worked for some of the biggest construction companies on EPCM and PCM projects.
