Course Objectives:
The course aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to effectively manage
projects using the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC)
• Understanding the Role: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the role and
responsibilities of a Project Manager under the NEC3 ECC.
• Contract Procedures: Learn the procedures described in the ECC and the
importance of following them correctly.
• Scenario Planning: Engage in scenario planning and case studies to develop
practical skills for managing real-world projects.
• Risk Management: Develop skills in managing risks, time, quality, cost, and
compensation events.
• Interactive Learning: Participate in highly interactive sessions with a focus on peer
learning and expert delivery from NEC3 specialists.
• Accreditation: On successful completion, receive accreditation as an NEC3 ECC

Day 1 - Project Startup
• Role of the PM.
• Contract Data and WI.
• Initial duties.
• Establishing key procedures.
Day 2 - Programme and Risk Management
• Programme requirements.
• Managing the programme.

• Regional case studies.
Day 3 - Commercial Management
• Payment.
• Defined Cost, Disallowed Cost and Fee.
• Compensation Events.
• Regional case studies.
Day 4 - Contract Management and Project Closure
• Reporting.
• Overcoming problems.
• Day-to-day issues.
• Project closure.
Assessment:
• Assessment 1 - Online multiple-choice question paper
• Assessment 2 - Written project report
Certification:
• On successful completion of the programme, delegates will receive a unique qualification
as an NEC3 ECC Project Manager accompanied by a certificate.
• Upon successful completion, participants are eligible for inclusion on the NEC Accreditation
Register. The NEC Accreditation is valid for five years and will need to be renewed to
maintain accreditation status
